We made two edits, one product oriented and one with an actor/runner. I just had to milk this shoot as much as possible.
The concept is faking Iceland/volcanic ash in Czech republic, a kind of a reminiscence of my the trip we took to the black sand beach of Vík in 2017.
This time around we tried to challenge ourselves as much as possible squeezing a lot from the smallest budget possible – all the expenses for materials and gas did not exceed 400 EUR.
We shot it two days: 1 studio day and one day on location.
The location day was quite unfortunate considering it is a tourist attraction and it gets crowded which meant we had to leave Prague at 4:50 am and our actor got food poisoning the day before, therefore Dan (who was assisting me on this shoot) stepped up and we shot it without his face being visible in any shots. Additionally as we arrived there was an hour long rain which we had to endure before all the tourists arrived. And of course the rain stopped as we wrapped.
